  • Residents must follow all Marine Corps and Base policies regarding keeping domestic animals aboard MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River, including breed restrictions. The Marine Corps Order on animal policy PROHIBITS THE FOLLOWING CANINE BREEDS Full or mixed breeds of Pit Bulls Rottweilers Wolf hybrids Any canine breed with dominant traits of aggression which present an unreasonable risk to the health and safety of persons aboard the Base. The Base Veterinarian's determination will be final and conclusive in cases of mixed breeds and other disputes. PET REMINDERS PER BASE Animals must be registered with Animal Control on base; including proof of microchip. Rabies tag must be visible on pets at all times. Pets must be properly sheltered with access to food and water. Pets must be on a leash at all times unless confined in a fenced area. AMCC'S POLICY ON DOMESTIC ANIMALS includes Only two domestic pets (cats/dogs) are allowed per home. Farm animals are prohibited. Written permission must be obtained from AMCC before moving a pet into a home. Residents are required to provide all documentation of vaccination and license before permission is granted.
